FIG+YARROW SOAK

A ritual I have come to covet is baths. Not just any bath, but one where some sort of soak is used, and I use exfoliating mitts to scrub scrub scrub from head to toe. The water is so hot, I'm literally sitting in the tub sweating. Its. a. cleanse. scrubbing off the toxins, releasing dead skin cells, leaving my phone out of reach, music on... a space for washing off the day, helping my muscles repair from all the yoga. This time has become such a part of me.

Today is monday, and I took time to try out Fig + Yarrows mustard soak. Here is a few things about my experience:

The "packette" size comes with about 2 baths, using 1/4-1/2c of the mixture. I opened the pack and separated it for easy keep and use for next time. It smells delicious. Simple, but rejuvenating. There is eucalyptus, rosemary and a few other oils but these are the ones I can instantly smell.

I took the bath after teaching this morning, and it was so nice to soak in after lots of exercise the past few days. Even now, a few hours later, I can still smell the oils on my skin, it's so soft to the touch, and my body feels at ease.

WHY ITS SO IMPORTANT TO EXFOLIATE SKIN: To exfoliate is to remove the dead skin cells that sit on the top layer of your skin. When we shed these dead cells, our bodies are able to regenerate new ones faster. And when we get older, this process naturally slows-- so if we can exfoliate to help this process then WHY NOT?! When old skin cells start to stack up on the surface of the skin, it can leave skin looking dull, rough, and dried out. Also, the build-up of these dead skin cells can result in excess oil and clogged pores, leading to blemishes and acne.
The right kind of exfoliation removes the wall of dead skin cells clogging the skin and uncovers fresh new cells. This opens the way for moisturizers to penetrate more deeply into the skin. Regular exfoliating will leave the skin with a healthy and fresh glow.

I am very eager to try more Fig + Yarrow products. The company is all organic, raw, and small batch, and their beautiful products are full of integrity. I absolutely love that they create their products to cultivate health and radiant beauty.

Cheers, Liv
