fit mind

Something that I have struggled with, but as I get older I learn how to manage more, is maintaining balance in both working out and eating clean. Having had struggled with an eating disorder for four years, learning how to truly have a healthy mindset in regards to health has taken SO much time. Whats really beautiful in all of it is that today I am confident that I went through all those years to be able to now help other people get where they want to be. To inspire others in their fitness goals but to help them reach them as well.

My work out history in the last year and half year has been patchy. Right before Ryan and I got engaged in summer/fall of 2014, I had just finished my internship for my Personal Training cert, then had to plan a wedding in three months. Prior to that I had been in a solid rhythm for almost two years of getting a workout in at least 3 times a week. I remember my new years resolution for 2015 was to get in the best shape of my life, yet, there was nothing consistently happening to reach that goal. I would go through weeks of doing a few things here and there to achieve the goal, but I wasn't committed the way I needed to be.

In January this year, I decided to change my disparity. I purchased an awesome 30 day sculpt DVD that consisted of 20 minute routines that incorporated ballet, yoga and pilates. I did the program pretty consistently and around the 25th day I lost the DVD! (LOL) But the next week Ryan purchased us an Olympic weight rack set, so there was something new to do!

In the last 53 days, I have spent 33 of those days taking time intentionally out of my day to pursue me. To pursue a healthier and balanced body. What I needed to move past was the vague goal of being a very specific way. The mindset that was saying "OK I need to become my best, most fit, toned and small self!" because that's not productive! Once my health and taking care of myself became the goal, the process began SO naturally. If our goals are too large, its usually too difficult to really pinpoint where we need to even begin. And if your goal is to look a certain way or be a certain number on the scale, whats really the point at the end of the day? pursue YOU, pursue longevity, pursue whats whole. You deserve to be taken care of;

treat yourself to health.
