OSEA: earth derived

I have been in this interesting process of sifting through the products I use within my life and weeding out the ones that are full of chemicals, parabens and even gluten! While the natural beauty world has always been sought after, it hasn't always been luxury. For a long time, a product that was marketed as “natural” almost always also carried the connotation that it would be less of what you expected out of one that had the additives. Meaning that the chemicals within a product would make it lather better, smell better, would “feel” better on your skin, etc. If something was “natural” it was going to act a little different in use.

On this journey of finding those ethically made, au-natural products, this negative association has been dwindling. The holistic, less is more product lines have become an experience. Whether it gives you specific instructions that allow the mind to engage (like leaving your phone outside the bath) or sensory/aromatherapy meditations, the products that have been made with overall health of the body in mind have become indulgent.

A little over a year ago I was introduced to a company that has put so much thought and effort in the production and the moral of their products. The brand: OSEA, that’s “OH-SEE-YAH”.

Many of you might have already had a glimpse into this product line as it was one I talked about in my Skin to Skin post, an entry about the products that I use, if I use anything consistently. (YOU CAN READ HERE).

Something I would like to first acknowledge about this incredible company is a little bit more about the mission and foundation.
This company is a female-created family operated business that is based in Malibu, CA. They are a company that has been and is committed 100% to using non-toxic ingredients AND packaging. They are cruelty free, gluten free, vegan and non-GMO.

What is really cool and fascinating is that their proprietary seaweed trio in their products is harvested in the healing waters of Patagonia. In fact they source all the ingredients in their products from all earth derived substances: Seaweed, Plants, Flowers, Salts, Botanicals + Essential Oils. Drawing their inspiration from OSEA, ocean + sun + earth + atmosphere. I love knowing that these products are derived ethically, using what our earth can give to use outside of a lab. This is truly where natural meets LUXURY.

STEP 1 + ocean cleanser

A delicious tonic of vegan lactic acid (derived from beets!) enhancing the cleanliness and tone of skin, also containing lime, cypress, juniper, orange, jasmine and certified organic Red Algae leaves. This cleanser diligently removes excess oils + dirt, but also hydrating the skin for normal to dry skin types.

STEP 2 + sea minerals mist

A refreshing mineral mist so perfect for almost any skin type, especially skin dealing with irritation from too much sun exposure. Dead sea salt, Patagonian seaweed, and aloe, this is a perfect light mist to soothe + neutralize the skin, reducing inflammation.

STEP 3 + atmosphere protection cream

I love that when I begin at the beginning, I enjoy the process of these products. They feel light on my skin and I feel that I am feeding my skin when I’m using them. My skin absorbs them like a drink of water. And it doesn’t hurt that they smell like love. While I have not necessarily had one skin routine that I do every single day, I can honestly say that I use each of these products at some point everyday.
